FAVOUR IN GOD’S EYES

Taking a good look at the Bible, one wonders where the word, woman, was first mentioned. We can see in Gen. 2:22, God brought the woman to Adam after He had made her. “And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man”.

Women are precious to God. They were made not directly from the dust of the ground, but from a finished living product, the rib of Adam.

Women have special role in God’s scheme of events.

Eve, the mother of all living, Sarah, the mother of the promised child Isaac, Deborah the prophetess who went with Barak to war, Esther, who was used as an instrument to rescue the Israelites from destruction, Mary the mother of Jesus,  Dorcas , Lydia and a host of others who helped with the growth of the early Church.

It was not God’s idea for man to be alone [Gen. 2:18] . Also in Prov. 18:22, “he that finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favour  from the Lord. ”  Adam was the work of God. Eve was to give assistance to the work of God. From the Bible stories, some women were married, and some others were not. Some played their roles well, while others not so well. No matter the situation you are in currently, with the help of the Holy Spirit and studying the scriptures, we learn how to be the woman God has made us to be in His vineyard.

We learn to be refined by God’s word so that we become women whose words are seasoned with grace, hands are proficient in good works, hearts  are willing to give and feet ready for the spread of the gospel. This is our focus as women in Christ our Wisdom Pentecostal Missions.

No matter the secular involvement of the modern day woman, God can use His gifts and talents embedded in us to His glory.

It is our prayer that we would find favour in God’s eyes always. Amen.
