Lord Preserve My Integrity at All Times
Bible Nugget 0223 [Psalm 101 v 1-8 KJV]
1I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.
2I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
3I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
4A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
5Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
6Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
7He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
8I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.
Integrity is the ladder to promotion while dishonesty is the fast track to demotion. Integrity is a treasure to be cherished. Once lost, it could take quite a while to get it back. God wants every heart to be full of integrity or truthfulness towards him. It is the desire of most students to have excellent grades. To be an ‘A’ student and deservedly get the mark from the teacher, the student needs to be studious and compete with his class mates according to the rules of the examination. A lifetime is an examination by God. Every person will give an account of how well he had spent his lifetime to God. Everyone will appear before the judgement seat of Christ.
The psalmist counsels that to win God’s attention (an “A” grade), one needs to have a perfect heart, demonstrate it in his household, and mix with the right crowd, that is, with people who are like minded. Speaking to believers in Christ, a parallel scripture in the New Testament is 2 Corinthians 6: 14-18 on being unequally yoked together with unbelievers. It reads.
14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
Are you a believer? Ask God for a perfect heart and live a life of integrity. Are you an unbeliever,or have you defaulted in your responsibility to please your maker, come to Christ and he will make everything new in your life [2 Corinthians 5:17, Amplified]
17Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!
