God’s Blessings on the Head of the Righteous

Bible Nugget 0605 [psalm 92:12-15 NKJV]

12 The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree,
         He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
 13 Those who are planted in the house of the LORD
         Shall flourish in the courts of our God.
 14 They shall still bear fruit in old age;
         They shall be fresh and flourishing,
 15 To declare that the LORD is upright;
         He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

The desire of God is to glorify his children and distinguish them from the heathen. The heathen do not know God and therefore any prosperity they seem to have is ephemeral. It is short-lived. It is the memory or remembrance of the righteous that is blessed. Not the memory of the wicked. The above psalm  powerfully reminds us that we are blessed. Blessed beyond measure. As a tree of the LORD planted by the riverside we continue to flourish even though there is famine and drought all around us. Your are a trees of righteousness.  Even if things appear not to be working hang on to God and he will distinguish you. You will spring forth because God will take the Glory when you are blessed. The palm tree planted by the water has an inexhaustible source of water to keep its sap full. And a cedar tree will survive against all odds and adverse weather conditions. God’s blessings are upon your head and he will distinguish you in due time.

Isaiah 61:3

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Prayer Nugget 0605

1.   Lord thank you for planting my feet on the Rock to stay. Thank you because my life will continue to flourish as I stay under your mighty protective arms in Jesus Name.

2.   I am like a big oak tree in Jesus Name. I draw my spiritual nutrients from the inexhaustible nutrient of the Almighty God in Jesus Name. Amen.

The winning Team (I)

Bible Nugget 0505 [1 Corinthians 15:58]

1 Corinthians 15: 58

“Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

Team sport is very interesting. A team sport requires every member of the team to contribute their quota for the team to perform. If any member is not giving his best on the field, the team’s performance goes down and the team may even lose the match. Sometimes, the team members may be excellent players, but the coach is very lousy. That team is likely to lose as many matches in a row as there are team members because the coach will give conflicting instructions to the team members before the big games. However, a very good coach will see and exploit the talent of each member of the team for successes. He changes one tactic (by tapping on the talent of a team member) and puts the opponent team in disarray. That one tactical change may make all the difference. This is common in soccer where the goal margin at the end of a game is 1-0. The match could have been so close that if you stopped watching as a neutral spectator at the 89th minute and left the stadium or went to bed thinking the match was over you would wish you saw the deciding goal live.

The coach of a Christian is Christ. He is not just any type of coach. He is a perfect coach. He coaches you to success and victory only. No losing game when Christ is your coach. He knows the tactics of the opposing team – the enemy (that is, the devil and his works). He has a clear plan against the other opponent coach, Satan.  John 10:10 reads:

10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Because Jesus is the best of coaches, victory is guaranteed.  However, you and I have a part to play our parts to continue as winners to the end. The scripture says …. be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work [1 Corinthians 15:58]. The problem is not with the coach because Coach Jesus is perfect. The problem is with you and me. How much effort (or labour as v 58 says) do you put into the kingdom to see the kingdom of God grow. Be a tireless worker for the kingdom.

Daniel 12:3

3And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Proverbs 11:30

30The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Be a soul winner. Be wise.

Prayer Points 0505

  1. I receive the spirit of an over comer in the mighty name of Jesus Name.
  2. I am a victor. I refuse to be vanquished. I enforce my victory in Christ over all the works of the enemy in Jesus Name.
  3. Oh Lord, grant me your divine wisdom. Help me to be a soul winner. Grant me the grace to work tireless in your vineyard in Jesus Name.

What is your Symbol of Strength?

Bible Nugget 0408[Psalm 46 v 1-7 KJV]
   1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

 2Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

 3Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

 4There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

 5God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

 6The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

 7The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

The question this hour is what is your symbol of strength? If you symbol of strength is in a person or man, the bible says woe is that person who puts his strength in a man. The person to put your strength in should be big, strong and reliable. In fact, very big, very strong and very reliable. Trust in the Lord most high and he will prove himself mighty on your behalf. God revealed himself in the person of Jesus Christ. He is very big, very strong and very reliable. God wants to infuse his strength into you. He also wants to prove himself strong and mighty on your behalf. God does not and has not made you timid or fearful. His word says in 2Tim 1 v7:

7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Your true strength therefore depends on how much you can tone your spiritual muscle you have in the Lord, not on contrary powers which are false powers and give fear. Nor is it a physical power on how many pounds of dumbbell you can lift. As a sportsman trains himself for the big occasion such as an Olympic with his eyes on the gold, we are admonished to be strong in the Lord or as stated in 2 Tim 2 v 1 … be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Tone your spiritual muscles to receive more strength by diligent study and obedience to the word of God and in prayers. The more you do this the more reserve strength you have which you can depend upon when you need it. You will need those spiritual muscles for the big occasions – fights with the devil and all the evil forces. Continue to put your trust in the Lord and he will not disappoint you.

Prayer Nugget 0408

  1. Oh Lord. Deposit into me your power. Strengthen me in my inner man and fortify me with all your spiritual weapons against the tactics of the forces of darkness in Jesus Name.
  2. Oh Lord stand for me strong and mighty. Show the enemy as you proved yourself mighty in time past in your word in the name of Jesus.
  3. Oh Lord of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego you are the living God. You are also the God of Elijah.  Show your power that men may know that all other gods are the works of men in Jesus Name. Amen.

Heavenly Joy is your Portion

Bible Nugget 0320 [Isaiah 51:11, KJV]

11Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

Earthly Joy

Do you want to have long-lasting joy, a foretaste of everlasting joy? Or do you want to have joy that is situation-dependent? Situation-dependent joy is earthly joy. It is short-lived or transient. When one say’s earthly joy, it means happiness that is not perpetual. Not whirling from within. It depends on other external factors, people etc. Earthly joy is diluted by sorrow.

Heavenly Joy

 There is another type of joy God wants his children to have, live and dwell in at all times. It is called heavenly joy. At the end of age, that is the joy that the children of God will possess for ever. Our nugget scripture says “the children of Zion shall return ….”, and then everlasting joy shall be on their head. When we return to God in heaven after this life, that is when true everlasting joy shall begin because sorrow and pain will pass away.   Meanwhile we can be content with long-lasting joy not diluted with sorrow and pain. It is possible because it agrees with the Word of God, the Bible. Heaven is a place of Joy and if the children of God will return there, then they must be perpetually happy people. In other words, God wants his children to have true happiness on earth here. Hence whatever will not make you happy or steals your joy is not the will of God for you. When the Apostle John visited heaven in the Spirit in Rev 4:1-11, the heavenly spirits around the throne of God were all full of joy.

Revelations 4:9-11 (KJV)

 9And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,

 10The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

 11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

On earth, the Holy Ghost supplies continuous joy to a believer’s heart, as the believer learns to rejoice in the Lord. Joy is a believer’s portion, just like healing is as our right. Jesus purchased or healing with his own blood, and when you have faith in the name of Jesus and that by that name sickness and disease has to bow, you receive your healing. Faith for healing comes by hearing the word of God. Likewise, hearing the word of God brings joy and assurance to a believer’s heart.

Jesus  in John 15:11 says:

 11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

Today, Jesus is represented by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit speaks words of comfort and consolation to our hearts all the time. Give heed to what the Spirit is telling you. He wants to have continuous fellowship with you in your heart. The disciples as they continue in the faith in the book of Acts, the bible says they were filled with joy and the Holy Ghost.

 Phil 2:1-2

 1If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

 2Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Philippians 3: 1: “Finally my brethen, rejoice in the Lord.”

Philippians 4:4: “Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say, rejoice.”

The will of God for you is that you live perpetually in joy. What is troubling your heart at this time? Cast all your burdens on Jesus because he cares for you. He has been on this road called earth before where he bore your pain and sorrow. He was a man acquainted with grief and sorrow so that your joy will be full. Turn everything to Jesus and you will be happy the rest of your days.

Prayer Nugget 0320

  1. Lord, let your joy be my portion all the day long in the Name of Jesus.
  2. Every pain and sorrow hindering my full joy, disappear from my heart in the name of Jesus.
  3. Holy Spirit, anoint my head with your oil of joy and gladness in Jesus Name.
  4. Holy Spirit, you are the supplier of joy. Supply my heart with abundance of joy that will last me all eternity in Jesus Name.

Adorned with Majesty Light

Bible Nugget 0313 [Psalm 93 v 1-2 NKJV]
1 The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty;
         The LORD is clothed,
         He has girded Himself with strength.
         Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved.
 2 Your throne is established from of old;
         You are from everlasting.

The beauty and splendour of God is majestic. Two characteristics of his majesty which God wants to pass to every person is his light and holiness. God is light and in him is not a shade of darkness (1 John 1:5). His light is both a purifier and destroyer. His light no man can break through.  However as we gaze at him in prayer, his light rubs on us and our inner man begin to radiate his glory and beauty, which invariably translates to holiness. This inner spiritual beauty should be the desire of everyone,  men and women  alike [ See  1 Timothy 2:8-9, 1 Peter 3:3-4.]

1 Tim 2: 8-9

 8I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

 9In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

1 Peter 3:3-4

3Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

 4But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

Imagine staying under the sun for a long time. You become thoroughly tanned and that is the good effect the sun leaves on you, and you carry that skin all around. So is the glory of God. Moses stayed long enough under the direct light of God, such that he himself began to reflect in minuscule lumens the glory of God (2 Corinthians 3:13), and had to veil his face to prevent people gazing at him and falling down dead.  If this was the case with Moses, that people approached him with great caution, the radiance of God’s light can only be imagined.

1 Timothy 6:16

16Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Another lesson to learn from the above is that God is absolutely holy and nothing unholy can approach him except in repentance. Isaiah saw God in an open vision and was absolutely awed by the glory, power and majesty. The light of God exposed Isaiah’s unholy state and he had to be cleansed by an angel to continue to remain in God’s presence.

Isaiah 6: 1, 5-7

1In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

 5Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

 6Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

 7And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

My desire is to be filled with his majestic presence on the inside and outside, so my walk with God will be in total holiness. What about you?

Prayer Nugget 0313

  1. Worship prayer: Lord I worship you in the beauty of your holiness. You are full of light and in you there is no darkness at all. Blessed be your holy name. Your throne is established forever. I bow down my knees in reverence of your holy name in Jesus name.
  2. Oh Lord, let your glorious light shine into my heart and overshadow every trace of darkness in Jesus Name.
  3. I envelope my self under your majestic light. Fill my heart with your spirit of holiness in Jesus name.
  4. Lord, adorn my heart with the spirit of meekness, quietness and holiness in Jesus name. Amen.
