Is your lot secured?

Sunday, October 23, 2011 by success Leave a Comment

Psalm 16: 5 Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure [New international version]

I may start by asking the question, what is a lot? A lot could mean different things to different people. The meaning could differ, depending on how the word is used. It could be used as an adverb, in which case it tells us the quantity; lots of beans, or the frequency; she goes to the grocery store a lot.
It could also be used in other ways.

I want to focus on its use as a noun. The word ‘lot’ here refers to a piece of land. In the developing world, lot is referred to as land. So when you own a piece of land, and later on erect a building, you are known as a ‘landlord’. In developed countries, you are referred to as a ‘Homeowner’ having built a house on your lot.

Some people buy lots in developing countries, and can never be sure that it belongs to them alone. You have to pay frequent visits to the lot, just to make sure somebody else has not gone to erect his own building on your property. This leads to frequent fights for just one piece of land and sometimes could be fatal. Both buyer and seller do not have peace of mind.

It sounds strange to people in developed countries like Canada, United States, United kingdom just to name a few, but it is true. This has happened to people we know of. This insecurity is as a result of deliberate dishonesty on the part of the lot owner or village head who sells one single piece of land to two or more persons. Eventually, with this fight, the lot is left vacant or the fiercer buyer wins.
In contrast, in developed countries, having made your down payment, the builder tells you to collect the keys to your home within 9 to 12 months. I remember asking the builder, was that all we needed to do? Oh yes! He said, or you could call a few days to the possession date to set the process in motion. Were we comfortable with the response? No of course, we still had to go behind him to visit the lot, just to make sure that things were going on well. There was actually no need for that because things went perfectly fine.

If man could give his word concerning our home and it all worked fine, how much more should we rely on God’s word?

My Lot could mean all that pertains to me, or all that are connected to me. It could be my children, family, work, health, ministry or anything or anyone with relevance to me.
If the Lord is my portion or my ration or whom I can claim or lay hold unto, why should my lot not be secured? The Lord shall secure your lot and mine in Jesus name.

Verse 6 says, ‘The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places, surely I have a delightful inheritance’

People can no longer move the boundary lines against us, but it shall always be in our favour from this day forth and for ever more, in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer
Help me Lord to understand that my Lot is secured in you and you alone in Jesus name.

WHY GOD LOVED DAVID

WHY GOD LOVED DAVID

BY DAVID AGBI

INTRODUCTION

God loved David so, so much because he was a man after God’s heart. God also loved David right back. So there was a lot of bonding between the two. David would do anything God said and God blessed him. This lesson will help you to go after God’s heart in Jesus Name.

OUTLINES:
PRAISES TO GOD
GLORIFIED GOD
GOD CAN LOVE AND BLESS YOU TOO

PRAISES TO GOD

David sang praises to God whenever he could and that’s one reason God loved David. He didn’t just sing when he was in trouble or when something bad was happening. He sang all the time. Also, he praised God so much, it became a habit and God blessed him so much to the extent that he became king over Judah and eventually, over Israel. If he can find time to praise God we can too because He made us in His own image [Gen. 1:26-31].

GLORIFIED GOD

David would glorify God all the time. He built temples for the people of Israel to worship God and made sacrifices to Him. It didn’t end there. He would give glory to God in every situation, even the bad ones. God blessed David for that and gave him strength to take over cities like Zion and Jerusalem and made them to be cities of God, not for himself. He didn’t hesitate if God said something and defeated any people that were in his way to do what God said [1 Sam. 17: 40-58]. God loved him so much for that too.

GOD CAN LOVE AND BLESS YOU TOO

God can bless you too if you praise Him and give glory to Him. God loved David and He can love you too if you did what David did. He praised God, built temples, glorified Him and did whatever God told him to do. If you do what David did, God will give David’s blessings to you and will help you in any thing you need help with.

CONCLUSION

David was a man after God’s heart and that’s what God liked about David. If you do what David did, God will bless you. So don’t just stand there! Go out and let people know there is a God that is alive!

THE CHOICE IS YOURS

THE CHOICE IS YOURS

Author: Esther Agbi

Psalm 5:12

12For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield

God has made man a free moral agent. He wants us to be able to make our choices. God does not impose anything on His creature. One thing I have observed about my God is that He tries to make the choice easy by allowing you to know the outcome of your choice, even before you choose.

For example, Exodus 20, verse 12 says “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee”. It is your choice to do whatever you like, but the end result of your choice is not hidden from you. If you choose to obey your parents, you have the blessing of long life. If you choose to disobey, you will not blame your Creator for the out come. [Read more…] about THE CHOICE IS YOURS

Hidden Treasures

Hidden Treasures by Esther Agbi

“Thy word have I hidden in my heart that I may not sin against thee [Psalm 119 v 11].”

What do people usually hide if I may ask? Something precious, Jewelries, China wares, Certificates, etc. Things that are precious are held with high regard. In some homes, expensive china wares are not used on a daily basis. They are reserved for functions or festivities like Christmas parties, family re-union or visitors. When the mum of the home pulls out such plates, the children begin to ask, who are we expecting mum? Some people store jewelries in the bank because it is treasured and of high value. God’s Promises

Sunday, January 9, 2011 by Joseph Agbi Leave a Comment

GOD’S PROMISES AND PROMISES AND PROMISES AND…, AND BLESSINGS

FAITH CONFESSION:

“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed” [Joel 2:25-26].

“I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together: That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it” [Isaiah. 41:18-20]

Have you made a promise and failed in the past to keep your promise to someone? Some people make promises and try to keep their word. It is a good virtue and you should improve on keeping your promises. However, if you have promised someone in the past and failed the person, maybe a loved one, do not give up trying to be noted as one who is good at fulfilling promises to others. When someone consistently faults in keeping promises, people call him a liar. Human frailty makes us to fault in keeping promises but if you are a person of your words people will consistently believe you [Psalm 15]. So keep trying to keep your promises. Deliverance Teaching:True Prosperity

Deliverance Teaching: True Prosperity
2Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. [3 John:2 KJV]

Other References: Proverbs10:22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

God desires our souls prosper. Prosperity is not a once-for-all step into wealth be they material, financial or otherwise. True prosperity is steady progress in the spirit. Your soul is the covering for your spirit. Your soul is the first contact point by the spirit world. Celestial (angels) or terrestrial spirits (powers of darkness and demons) do not directly relate with your body as they are not physical beings, just like we relate with other humans on the surface, what we can see-our senses.

Once evil spirits have kept a man’s soul bound, they [Read more…] about Deliverance Teaching:True Prosperity
