WISDOM FOUNTAIN 0314/2010 [Psalm 91 KJV]

STRENGTH [ II ]

1The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;  2Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; 3Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.  4Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.  5We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions. 6 Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Psalm 20:1-6  KJV

Strength is an internal power or resilience of your spirit to face the challenges that come your way and overcome them with the weapons God has put freely at your disposal. However, even when you are super active in the spirit, your soul and body may be weakened by the situation you find yourself. Strength was failing Jesus at Gethsemane when he was facing death for our salvation and he had to call on God to strengthen him. His body and soul acted in consonance with nature but he submitted himself to the will of the Father which is all the strength he needed at the particular time [Matthew 26:37-39]. At the beginning of Jesus’ ministry after he fasted for 40 day and 40 nights and had overcome Satan himself in the 3 serious temptations, the bible says angels came and ministered to Jesus. God sent angels from his sanctuary to help Jesus and praise him for defeating the great foe [Psalm 91:11, Matthew 4:6, 11]. Remember Jesus was on a high mountain at the time and God did not want the evil wish of Satan to come to pass. Also, Jesus after such a long fast, was naturally weak. The Psalmist said “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever” [Psalm 73:26]. Be confident in the strength and power of God as God is willing to help you in any area of your weakness. Putting your body under subjection is a way of building up spiritual strength just as an athlete does in his profession [1 Corinthians 9:24-27]. Draw strength from the inexhaustible strength of God right now in Jesus Name.

PRAYER OF FAITH

1.      Oh LORD, defend me. Defend my righteous cause and send your angels to minister to me in the Name of Jesus.

 2.      Oh LORD, save me by your right hand. Let your anointing on me attract your  strength in Jesus Name.

WISDOM FOUNTAIN 0307/2010 [Psalm 91 KJV]

STRENGTH [ I ]

Psalm 91:1-2  KJV

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

God’s word is strength to his people. Webster’s dictionary defines strength as any of the following: ability to resist attack, strain or stress; physical, emotional or mental resources. Psalm 91:1-16 indicates the type of strength and resilience God has and which we can rely on to defend us. When we are under his shadow no salvo of the enemy can reach us because we are also the apple of his very eye [Deuteronomy 32:10, Psalm 17:8].

Psalm 17:8  KJV

8Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

He watches over you day and night so that no evil may befall you. In the day of trouble he will hear you speedily. Wouldn’t you like to remain under his mighty wings of protection and safety?

 PRAYER OF PROTECTION

1.      Oh LORD, I seek protection under your shadow. Cover me with your mighty wings and be my fortress in Jesus Name.

 2.      Oh LORD watch over me. Encase me in the hollow of your palms and let your angels be adversary to all who want my downfall in Jesus Name. Amen.

Bible Nuggets 0228/2010

BIBLE NUGGETS 0228/2010 [Jude v3 KJV]

CONFLICT [ III ]

Jude v 3 KJV

3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Faith in Jesus is the common salvation available to all men. If you have received him, you are on his side. The side of Jesus is the winning team. However there is a contending team in conflict with the team of Jesus. The head of that team is Satan and his team is the losing side. As a saint of God, defend the goalpost of Jesus. Angels, the blood of Jesus, the name of Jesus, the word of God provide fortification for the goalpost so the enemy remains always defeated. This is not the case of the better team wins. Jesus is the winner because it was settled on the cross of Calvary for you and me. So contend for the faith and God will give you the divine strength to play your path in the team of Jesus. The gates of hell cannot prevail against the church. Praise God.

Colossians 2:14-15 KJV

14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

WARFARE PRAYER

1.       I prevail over every principality and power raging against me in the name of Jesus. I take all the enemy’s territory for Jesus in Jesus Name.

 2.      I conquer the enemy.  I command every foothold of the enemy on my life and the life of my loved ones to be amputated in Jesus Name. Amen.

BIBLE NUGGETS 0221/2010

BIBLE NUGGETS 0221/2010 [Ephesians 6:12 KJV]

CONFLICT [ II ]

Ephesians 6:12 KJV   12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Ephesians 6:12, Amplified Version 12For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

The forces we contend with are not earthly beings. All plans and wickedness and planned in heavenly places and hatched on earth in the lives of men who permit them. Thank God we have strong spiritual weapons; the word of God, the name of Jesus and the blood of Jesus to dismantle and scatter such plans. Even after giving your life to Christ, you have to expel these powers from your life by seeking total deliverance from every stubborn occupant or illegal squatters in your life. You do not overcome demonic forces by word of mouth or boastings but by wrestling them down to submission in prayer. Engage the blood weapon or other devices to achieve this. The only prayer commands the enemy cannot resist are if you offer the prayer as follows: “….. in the name of Jesus”, and “……by the blood of Jesus”.

2 Corinthians 10:4 KJV (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

WARFARE PRAYER

1.       I dethrone every power sitting on my blessings. Let the angels of God chase them and give them no rest until they surrender in Jesus Name.

 2.      Let the blood of Jesus begin to torment my enemies. Fall down and die in the mighty Name of Jesus.

BIBLE NUGGETS 0214/2010 [COLOSSIANS 2:1 KJV]

CONFLICT [ I ]

Colossians 2:1 KJV

1For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

Colossians 2:1 , Amplified Version

1FOR I want you to know how great is my solicitude for you [how severe an inward struggle I am engaged in for you] and for those [believers] at Laodicea, and for all who [like yourselves] have never seen my face and known me personally.

The Apostle Paul was in constant struggle in prayer for the Saints at Colossae and Laodicea. He wanted the good of the brethren and he was ready to suffer the consequences for his faith. Conflict in Greek is “agon” and it implies a contest or an effort or anxiety or contention. You have something to struggle for; to wrest from the enemy all your stolen goods and properties whoever the enemy may be, whatever face they carry and no matter their tactics.  You will surely laugh last. So, keep at it and God will give you the victory in Jesus Name.

WARFARE PRAYER

1.       Oh Lord, grant me the inner strength to keep going even in the midst of great opposition mustered from the pit of hell in the name of Jesus.

 2.      Every power opposing my faith and the welfare of the brethren, receive the stones of fire in Jesus Name.

BIBLE NUGGETS 0207/2010 [2 Kings 2:9-10, James 5:17-18 KJV]

DOUBLE MIRACLES

Elijah and Elisha were two outstanding prophets in the area of signs, wonders and miracles. In the public ministry of these two mighty men of God, their ministry was power-packed with one miracle after another. Counting individual miracles, Elijah had 21 miracles on record and Elisha 41 (in his lifetime). This does not add up mathematically [21×2=42] because Elisha was a servant of Elijah and he, Elisha, asked for a double portion of the spirit of Elijah before Elijah’s translation to heaven. Elijah said this is a hard thing for me to give you but if you see me go to heaven in a chariot of fire, then you will get the double portion. Elisha stuck fast to Elijah. He knew what he wanted and was not going to be discouraged by the fellow prophets. They all were witnesses to what God did through the life of Elijah and even knew from Elijah that it was his last day. He repeatedly told them, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace. [2 Kings 2:9-10]

9And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.  10And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.

The mighty miracles in Elijah’s ministry include: multiplying food like Jesus did with the case of 5 loaves & 2 fishes, feeding 5000 men excluding women and children, with baskets left over. In the case of Elisha, they [the sons of the prophet and Elisha], all heard of the miracles of their master Elijah such as the case of the widow of Zarephat [I King 17: 10-24] who had barrels and barrels of oil to sell and feed from because she believed the man of God who had asked from her a cruise of oil. Elijah also raised her dead son like Jesus did in the case of Lazarus. The 3 years drought resulting from the prayer of Elijah for his pronouncement as a result of the sins of King Ahab was also an outstanding miracle. Elijah and Elisha were men of like passion, having good hearts ready to be used of God. God honoured Elijah’s word because he spoke them by faith – unshakable and solid faith like a rock. After 3 years when He called back rain, it did not appear it would rain. He was not even moved, telling his servant Gehazi to go look 7 times before the servant saw rainy clouds in what appeared to be the hand of a man [1 King 18: 41-46]. Elijah had just completed the disgrace of 400 prophets of Baal, by calling down fire to consume their sacrifice. The triumph of his faith is recorded in the New Testament.

James 5:17-18

17Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years

and six months. 18And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

God performed 41 miracles in the lifetime of Elisha. However, recall that he had received a double portion of Elijah’s spirit who performed 21 miracles. This seeming discrepancy was finally solved when Elisha had died, God empowering the dead bones of Elisha after his death to revive a man who died.

2 kings:13:20-21.

20And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.   21And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

The word of God is yea and amen and since it cannot return to God unfulfilled, he will bring to pass his promises and blessings upon your life in Jesus Name. Amen.

PRAYER OF FAITH

1.       Oh Lord, fill me with a double portion of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Name.

2.      Let your Holy Spirit rest upon me after the order of Elijah and Elisha in the mighty Name of Jesus.
