Affections of Heaven

 

Bible Nugget 0204 [Colossians 3 v 1-4, KJV]

1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

 2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

 3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Heaven is splendid in beauty as described in Rev 21:10-23. Heaven has no sun because the Glory of God is the sun. It is well decorated with all types of precious ornaments; gold, jasper, sapphire, topaz, emerald to name a few. That is the home and permanent address Jesus says he wants us to dwell in John 14: 1-3. To get there a Christian needs to be focused on pleasing the owner and Land Lord of Heaven, God Almighty by living a life pleasing to him on earth here. Pray the following prayer with me.

Lord thank you for saving me and making me to sit in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. Thank you for the authority I have in the name of Jesus over all principalities and powers and the rulers of darkness. Thank you for the visions and raptures of heaven and the better life and hope I have in Christ Jesus. I affirm in the Name of Jesus that I am dead to sin and alive to righteousness in Jesus Name. Thank you for Jesus who is my life, and thank you for reserving a place for me in your heavenly kingdom in Jesus Name. Amen.

All Encompassing Grace

Bible Nugget 0203 [2 Corinthian 9 v 8, KJV]

8And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

  

We can attract the blessings of God into our lives through obedience to the Word of God. Unmerited favour, we earn by the Grace of God in Christ. Pray for great grace from God [Acts 4:33] as you profess your Christian faith and for you to be strong in that grace [1Tim 2 v1].

Lord I thank you for your Grace that is sufficient for me in all things so that I do not lack behind in any good work. Thank you for your word which makes me perfect in my weakness, because when I am weak that is when I am strong. Let your abundant Grace redound in my life in Jesus name. By your grace I am what I am and my life will be better everyday in Jesus Name. Your grace is sufficient for me spiritually, maritally, physically, emotionally, socially, and in every aspect of life. Those areas of my life that are imperfect, perfect them in Jesus name. Strengthen me in my inner man, and conform me to the image of Christ in Jesus name. Let your grace bring out every good work in my life in Jesus Name. Amen.

Everlasting and Abundant Mercies

[Isaiah 54: 7-8 NIV]
 7 “For a brief moment I abandoned you,
       but with deep compassion I will bring you back.

 8 In a surge of anger
       I hid my face from you for a moment,
       but with everlasting kindness
       I will have compassion on you,”
       says the LORD your Redeemer.

Prayer Nugget 0202:

This is a reassuring promise from God to show mercy and compassion when we feel removed from His presence, for example, due to the guilt of sin even when repented or in time of spiritual dryness when the heaven become as brass to your prayers. Pray this reassuring prayer.

 Father Lord, let your everlasting mercies continually be my portion in Jesus name. Make my love for you to be warm always and know no bounds in Jesus name.  Let me continually behold your face and Glory. Let your everlasting kindness be my portion all the days of my life until I be with you in glory in Jesus Name.  Amen

A useful vessel in God’s household

Bible Nugget 0201 [Heb 13: 16-17 Amplified]

   16Do not forget or neglect to do kindness and good, to be generous and distribute and contribute to the needy [of the church as embodiment and proof of fellowship], for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

    17Obey your spiritual leaders and submit to them [continually recognizing their authority over you], for they are constantly keeping watch over your souls and guarding your spiritual welfare, as men who will have to render an account [of their trust]. [Do your part to] let them do this with gladness and not with sighing and groaning, for that would not be profitable to you [either].

Chastised for a Greater Future

11Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

If you have experienced difficulty in professing your Christian faith or ‘rebuke’  from the LORD for disobedience to His Word, please confess this simple prayer and yield your heart completely to the LORD.

Lord thank you chastising me when I go astray from your word and bringing me back to you. Thank you for not forsaking me to the hands of my oppressors and enemies who seek my destruction. Every force of darkness waging war against my soul, I command them to bow, crumble and be disgraced in the name of Jesus. Thank you for your eternal joy within my heart that keeps me going when the going is rough.  Lord please give me the grace to go through any temporary difficulties I face in any sphere of life including Spiritual, marital, social, financial and the like. Lord let me learn good lessons from every chastening that I have or will ever go through and let such not consume me or die under sin to such chastisement in Jesus name. Let me enjoy the good fruits that such chastising will bring in Jesus name. Amen.
