Strength [III]
10Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
1The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! Psalm 21:1 KJV
One of the instruments of drawing divine strength is the joy of the LORD. The original Hebrew word for strength in these passages is ‘mawoze’which translated means a fortified place – a defense, fortress, rock, strength or stronghold. These are what joy can draw from the LORD. It’s like drawing funds from an inexhaustible account. You become very wealthy in no time. The Holy Spirit is an inexhaustible source of joy and he will fill your heart with that joy in Jesus Name. As we live a life of joy before the Lord, we are actually living inside this fortified place. When we seek the Lord and his strength [Psalm 105:4; 1 Chronicles 16:11], you seek for his security, might or power. Praising him in his majesty is the sure way to tap from this strength as King David did in congregational worship [Psalm 78:4; Psalm 21:13]. Let your heart be filled with heavenly songs of joy always and you will see the wonders God will do in your life in Jesus Name.
PRAYER OF FAITH
1. Oh LORD, let your everlasting joy be my strength and fill my soul with your heavenly glory in Jesus Name.
2. Oh LORD, be my defense, my fortress, my rock, my strength and my stronghold in the mighty Name of Jesus.
