Strength and Courage [IV]
5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. 6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. 7Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest. [Joshua 1:5-7]
There is another form of inner strength we get as we diligently serve the LORD. It is called courage. Strength and courage are essential ingredients to make it in life. The two must be present and complement each other in an individual. If you are strong without much courage, you will see an opponent who may challenge and defeat you because of his courage. Courage may be equated to boldness whereas strength is derived as you exercise your spiritual muscles. A Christian who does not flex his spiritual muscles will hardly be strong. He will become flabby spiritually in no time. In spiritual warfare when you want to enter into your inheritance, take back your territory or stop the enemy’s encroachment into your life, you must be strong and courageous as Joshua was commanded to do in the above passage. In Ephesians 6:10, we are told, ”Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might”. As you become more courageous, God will perform outstanding miracles in your life that would confound your adversaries and any River Jordan hitherto preventing you from entering into your promised land would stand up as a heap. Thereafter, you will gloriously match into and take your possessions and inheritance in Jesus name. [Joshua 3:7-8, 14-17]
PRAYER OF FAITH
1. Oh LORD, I receive and store your word in my heart which gives me strength and courage to become more and more bold. I am as bold as a lion in Jesus Name.
2.I will not be worn down by the tricks and antics of the enemy. I command all my adversaries to surrender of their own accord. Begin to fight yourselves in Jesus Name.
