The more time you spend with someone, the better assessment one has about that person. First impression is not always the right one. Most people try hard to give a good and lasting impression the first time because human beings are not usually very patient to study one before they criticize. You could imagine someone going for a job interview, getting well dressed and just a few feet away from the venue, he is splashed with muddy water. Time is of essence. If he decides to go home and change his clothing, he might be late. On the other hand, if he decides to appear before the panel, looking untidy as a result of the incident, he will not give a good impression. WISDOM FOUNTAIN 0307/2010 [Psalm 91 KJV]

 

STRENGTH [ I ]

 

Psalm 91:1-2  KJV  

 

 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

 

God’s word is strength to his people. Webster’s dictionary defines strength as any of the following: ability to resist attack, strain or stress; physical, emotional or mental resources. Psalm 91:1-16 indicates the type of strength and resilience God has and which we can rely on to defend us. When we are under his shadow no salvo of the enemy can reach us because we are also the apple of his very eye [Deuteronomy 32:10, Psalm 17:8].

8Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

 

He watches over you day and night so that no evil may befall you. In the day of trouble he will hear you speedily. Wouldn’t you like to remain under his mighty wings of protection and safety?

 

 PRAYER OF PROTECTION

 

1.      Oh LORD, I seek protection under your shadow. Cover me with your mighty wings and be my fortress in Jesus Name.

 

 2.      Oh LORD watch over me. Encase me in the hollow of your palms and let your angels be adversary to all who want my downfall in Jesus Name. Amen.

THE LORD WILL BLESS HIS PEOPLE

LIVING BREAD NUGGETS 0124/2010 [Gen 26:12-14, KJV]

The Lord wants to perform quick and miraculous acts of grace, favour and supernatural deliverance in our lives to glorify his name. Isaac stayed in a land plagued by famine called Gerar, as God had instructed him, and in one year his harvest was a hundred fold. Remember we are talking of a season of famine. When others were in lack, God’s mercy was abundant in the life of Isaac because the covenant God had with Abraham was at work in the life of Isaac, Abraham’s son.

 

Gen 26: 12-14

12Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

 13And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

 14For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

 

Prayer of Faith

Let divine favour be my portion in all things. As your word says, Isaac sowed in the land you told him to stay and he was blessed by you with a hundred fold harvest in the same year breaking natural laws.  Grant me a heart of obedience to hearken to your voice. I receive hundred fold returns as I sow and you bless the work of my hands in Jesus Name. Amen.

DENY YOURSELF WITH A RENDED HEART WITH FASTING

LIVING BREAD NUGGETS 0110/2010 [Joel 2 v12-14, KJV]

 12Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

 13And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

 14Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?

Do you want God to listen to you? Or are you afraid of an impending judgment from God? Deny yourself of the pleasures and luxuries of life for a season. If you are a beginner, give up a meal or two and ask God to remold you spiritually.  Come before him with an attitude of repentance. The bible says a broken and contrite heart God will not despise [Psalm 34:18; Psalm 51:17]. This was the confidence of David that God would hear his prayers when he was repenting of the sin of Uriah the Hittite. And Job when he experienced the power and was bathed in the glory of God said, “I abhor myself and repent in sackcloth and ashes” [Job 42:5-6]. As you pray for yourself, you can also intercede for others to experience the mercy of God – you family and loved ones, the people of God, the land and your nation.

 

PRAYER OF FAITH & REPENTANCE

Lord, I rend my heart and turn to you with a heart of repentance asking for mercy. Lord accept the fasting of your people as a righteous oblation as the multitude in the land turns to you in repentance in Jesus Name. Lord, let your servants who minister to the people be filled with zeal to lead the people to seek the Lord in Jesus Name. Sin shall not rule over the Land and cause your people to be second class citizens in Jesus Name. The heathen shall know you through the revival you will sweep across the land in Jesus Name. Amen.

Eph 3: 17-21

 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

 

The human mind is too small to conceive what God can do in all his power and abilities. Only faith in Christ who is the Word of God can bring you to the door of your divine opportunities and blessings. Think of His love for you and you find that it is really deep, high and wide. When you seek for his love, even PhD knowledge of it is not able to comprehend it. He gave you life; He is the Porter and you are the clay. He gives you food shelter and clothing, the basic human needs. He keeps you in divine health, even when your mortal body is weak or infirmed he heals you and makes you strong again. He saves and delivers you from those who are too strong for you to handle on your own. Give Him the Glory. Embrace Christ and you find that your life will not be the same again.
