Nature Obeys When It Is the Lord’s Business

Bible Nugget 0217 [Joshua 10 V 12 – 14 KJV]

12Then Joshua spoke to the Lord on the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the Israelites, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, be silent and stand still at Gibeon, and you, moon, in the Valley of Ajalon!

    13And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation took vengeance upon their enemies. Is not this written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of the heavens and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.

    14There was no day like it before or since, when the Lord heeded the voice of a man. For the Lord fought for Israel.

 We serve a Mighty God, the creator of thee universe who keeps all the heavenly bodies intact by his awesome power. He created all things by his spoken Word.  For example, God said, “Let there be light: and there was light” [Gen 1:3]. The sun, moon and stars continue to declare his glory and the marvel of his works [Psalm 19:1-6].  v1 says Joshua spoke to God concerning the issue at hand which was total defeat of their enemy.  Having cleared with God, Joshua spoke to the sun to delay its setting and the moon not to hasten its appearance. How glad God must have been to hear a man created in his own image speaking words of faith and calling on the works of God’s hand to obey him. God made man to have dominion over the work of his hands [Psalm 8:6] and God was pleased to honored Joshua faith.     Three issues come to mind reading verse 14.

1.      The Lord fought for Israel. We need to depend on God to grant us victory in all our battles. God has all the resources in heaven to do this including assigning angels on our behalf. God knows how to keep his creation going so that we can have victory.

2.      The Lord heeded the voice of a man. The Lord will always respond to a prayer of faith. Elijah was a man of like passion and the bible says he caused rain to cease for 3 years on the land when the people forsook God, and then caused rain to start again after 3 years. God can hear you and answer your prayer too.

3.      God still answers prayers today even if they are for “big” thing. All you need is to step up your faith to match the “big” thing, asking in the Name of Jesus. Jesus says whatever we ask the Father in his Name it will be done by God the Father. You can believe God for a miracle in your life today.

Prayer Nugget 0217 
Oh Lord I magnify you and worship you for all your wondrous works. I marvel at the works of your hands- the sun, moon, stars and all the heavenly bodies. Lord, you are the Almighty and you are glorious in Holiness and fearful in Praises. Lord hearken unto my prayers and cause all your creation to cooperate with me until I obtain my breakthrough. Do dumbfounding miracles in my life that will glorify your name. I pray for victory in any battle your children may be going through. Raise a standard for your people and fight the battles for your people. Establish your people against the heathen and let the enemy be subdued under us in Jesus name. Let the earth be still and obey as we conquer and rejoice over the spoils of the enemy in Jesus Name. Amen.

JESUS, THE PERFECT GIFT TO MANKIND

 

Bible Nugget 0106 [John 3: 16 – 21, KJV]

16For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

 20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

 21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Our God is a merciful and loving God. His desire is that everybody be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. When Adam and Eve fell in the Garden of Eden they lost fellowship with God and became alienated from God. They also became servants to a new master, the devil who put a mark of ownership on them; sin, death and eternal separation from God for the unrepentant.  God sent his Son into the world to reconcile mankind back to God.  He gave mankind the very best gift, His only begotten Son, full of the Grace of God. Rejecting the Son of God is an eternal death sentence one places on him or herself. Believing and accepting Jesus will usher you into God’s kingdom and you become a member of the family of God. Let him into your heart and darkness will have no hiding place. Why not accept Jesus today if you have not done so already. Make him the centre point of your life to which all other things revolve and enjoy the peace he gives.

 

Prayer of Faith 0106

 

Pray the following sinner’s prayer and become a member of the family of God.

 

 

Oh Lord, I come to you in the Name of Jesus. I come without any plea of my righteousness. Cleanse me from all my sins with your precious blood.  I renounce and cut off every fellowship with darkness. Let your glorious light shine on me. Thank you Father LORD for my salvation is assured by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, your only begotten Son. Thank you LORD for making me to see the glorious light of the gospel. Shine you light perpetually on me in Jesus Name.

REDEEMING THE TIME
 
Bible Nugget 0105 [Romans 13 V 11 – 14; Psalm 90:12 (KJV)]

11And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

 12The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

 13Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

 14But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Time is one of the most valuable gifts given to man on earth by God. Christians will give an account of their time, how wisely they have used it in terms of holiness and way of life when we stand before thee judgment seat of Christ. The Psalmist says it consisely in Psalm 90 v 12.

 12So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

 Let us live lives pleasing to God and fulfill our spiritual obligation to His Kingdoms. Let your light shine.

 

Prayer of Faith 0105

Lord, help me to keep focused in my spiritual life. Revive my spirit man from all forms of slumber and keep me awake and alive in my service to you. I cast out of my life every affinity of lewdness and debauchery (wickedness, sin, depravity, corruption and dishonesty) in Jesus Name. Let my fellowship with you be sweet and help me to sow my time in the things of your kingdom in Jesus Name. Amen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wisdom Fountain 0103

INNER CLEANSING
27 The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart. 30 Blows that hurt cleanse away evil, As do stripes the inner depths of the heart [Proverbs 20:27, 30 NKJV].

The light post in a dark night guides sailors towards the harbour to berth their ship safely against the tempest of the sea as huge waves, lined up, surge from many nautical miles in the ocean ready to slam them against the harbour. Your spirit is the light post God has put in you to guide you through this tempestuous world. Keep it awake and let it glow in you 365 days/120 years if the Lord tarries.

Prayer for Alertness

Pray this prayer so you spirit man will be quickened from spiritual slumber, and your heart will be a sanctuary of His holiness.

Lord I thank you for your Holy Spirit that you have freely given to me. I decree that my spirit man shall be alive and awake to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Search all the inward parts of my heart and purge away every thing that does not glorify you in Jesus name. Let mercy and truth fill my heart and lovingkindness be my attitude to those around me and those you have put under my care. Strengthen me in my inner man and grant me physical strength to tackle the challenges of daily living in Jesus name. Thank you for removing the pain for every blow I have received and teaching me to turn away from evil. Thank you for Jesus who was beaten with many stripes so the blows I receive will never consume me in Jesus name. Henceforth let no man trouble me for I bear on my body the marks of the Lord Jesus Christ (Gal 6:17) in Jesus name.  Amen.
