LAST DAY OF 40 DAYS OF GENERAL PRAYER AND FASTING FOR 2024

Exploring God’s Presence (EXGP page 33-35)

BREAKTHROUGH AND VICTORY CELEBRATION PRAYERS

Text 2 Chron. 20:1-30; Eph. 1:1-23; Rev. 22:1-21.

Matthew 16:18 I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this Rock I will build My Church, and the gates of hades shall not prevail against it.

Psalm 2:11-12 Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He is angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.

1 John 5:4 Whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith.

Thank God and pray the following prayers as the Spirit gives you utterance. These prayers are for destroying long-standing yokes. Proclaim shouts of victory and endless praise.

  1. Lord, I believe; fill me with your Spirit. Flow in me River of living water (Jn 7:37-39).
  2. Father, I seek you wholly and meet your Spirit. I reject all counterfeit spirits (Jn 4:24).
  3. Lord, you are my light and salvation. I shall not fear. I place my faith in you (Ps 27:1-5).
  4. All enemies encamped or regrouping against us, be scattered to desolation (Ps 27:1-3).
  5. All alliances confronting my authority in Christ, I command you to yield (2 Chron. 20:1-4).
  6.  Lord, grant me vision of your plan for my life. Make it as clear as crystal (Hab. 2:1-3).
  7. Fill my heart with images of your victorious life on earth. I follow your model (Jn 5:19-20).
  8. Let me speak only the things I hear the Father speak and do what He does (Jn 8:31-59).
  9. Lord, we dedicate our souls and hearts to you; we sing songs of praise. Open our eyes to see your protection day and night. Thank you for leading us with your pillar of cloud and pillar of fire. Thank you for sending your angels to encamp around us. We enjoy your strong protection as eagles over her young (2 Kings 6:15-17; Exod. 13:21-22; Ps 34:7-9).
  10. Thank God for fighting your battles and defeating your enemies (2 Chron. 20:5-25).
  11. Holy Spirit, I follow your flow and face the future with confidence (Luke 4:14-20).
  12. Thank you, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, for the victories in my life. Fill me with the glories of heaven. I love you, Lord. Maranatha (Rev. 22:1-21; 1 Cor. 16:22; 2 Cor. 13:14).

  15. Thank God for His awesome power which terrifies the camp of satan (2 Sam. 22:8-20).
  16. Thank God for the victory you have in Christ in being triumphant always (2 Cor. 2:14).
  17. All obstacles facing you take authority over them using God’s word (2 Sam. 22:21-33).
  18. Thank God for toughening your inner man. Rejoice you are victorious (2 Sam. 22:33-46).

  21. Decree that high things against the knowledge of God be pulled down (2 Cor. 10:4-6).
  22. Decree that all trials you face henceforth, you will always win (Matt 4:1-11).
  23. Thank God for your salvation, for defeating and shaming satan (Rom 8:31-39; Col. 2:9-15).
  24. King of kings you reign on the earth. Cause all kingdoms to bow to the Church (Ps 2:7-12).

  26. We raise your banner over the nations. We dismantle all satanic networks (Luke 10:17-24).
  27. Father, disgrace the Leviathan spirit acting over all unruly souls, marriages, people, and nations. We banish the spirit of pride and establish the authority of your word over such hearts and nations. Christ shall reign and all kings must bow (Job 41:34; Ps. 2; Isa 27:1).

  31. Lord, distinguish your people with heavenly blessings and keep us high (Eph.1:3).
  32. Lord, we acknowledge your holiness. Make us clean vessels (Eph. 1:4-7).
  33. Oh Lord, fill our hearts with your spirit of wisdom and revelation (Eph. 1:15-18).
  34. Oh God, make our hearts fertile ground for the Fruit of the Spirit (1 Cor. 13: 1-13).
  35. Holy Spirit, help us in our weaknesses and break the barriers against us (Rom. 8:26).
  36. Oh Lord, fan your fire in us to hate and abhor all forms of sins (1 Thess. 5:22-24).
  37. Lord, establish our ministry as part of your end time army (Matt. 11:12; Matt.16:18).
  38. Let the Church flourish and give hope where hopelessness and despair are in the world.
  39. Holy Spirit, uproot and destroy every evil tree planted in my family line (Matt.15:13).
  40. Father Lord, revive your Church to seek you in holiness and righteousness (I Pet. 1:15-16).
  41. Lord, make your people walk in one accord to advance your Kingdom (Acts 2:46-47).

HEALTH ARTICLE – 15: THE HEALING VALUE OF EXCERCISE (4)

Saturday, January 27, 2024 by Joseph Agbi Leave a Comment

The bottom line on exercise

Exercise and physical activity are a great way to feel better, gain health benefits and have fun. As a general goal, aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day. If you want to lose weight or meet specific fitness goals, you may need to exercise more. Remember to check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially if you haven’t exercised for a long time, have chronic health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes or arthritis, or you have any concerns.

3.         Browse in a secular bookstore and pick up a good book on exercise. Examine it, so you get a feel for various exercises you could do in each of the three categories.

The three categories of exercises stated by Dr Mark are: aerobic, strength-building, and stretching

Some years back, I bought and added to my Home Library. The book is from Reader’s Digest, Get Fit, Feel Fantastic! Authored by Dr Michael Perring and Anne Hooper, the book narrates the complete health program for living your mature years to the fullest. Chapter 1, pages 14 to 40, is titled Fit for Life. Excerpts from the chapter, pictures left out, are as follows:

A. Exercise (page 14)

“Any exercise  above your normal level of activity will benefit your health in a very short time”….If you live a very inactive life, a brisk 20 minute walk at least 3 times a week (same recommendation from Dr Mark), will quickly make you feel more energetic, sharpen your mind and senses and give you that extra zest for life. You could add some other sporting activity.

  • It boost your energy level
  • It makes you feel great
  • It strengthens your body
  • It boosts your immune system by speeding up the blood and lymphatic circulation
  • Increased lung power increasing oxygen levels in the body
  • It improves the heart’s blood circulation and its ability to fight diseases

The authors write further:

“During exercise, your lung capacity increases five to seven times. Some of this increased capacity stays with you when you are not exercising, so you breathe deeper to produce more power for the muscle and fuel for the brain.”

“The cornerstone of the body’s defense system mechanism is the lymphatic system, which relies on physical activity to push lymph fluid around the body, along with the white blood cells and antibodies that fight infection.”

“Perhaps best of all, lovemaking will also improve with regular exercise. You will feel like having sex more often, it will last longer and you will enjoy it more. All these benefits will come to you within weeks of starting regular exercise, and should stay with you for as long as you continue.”

“A well-known research project called the Framingham Study investigated the link between exercise and heart disease. It concluded that sedentary people were over five times more likely to die from heart disease than those who fit even moderate levels of exercise into their weekly routine.”

B.        Daily wake-up and Warm-up exercises: 10 minutes routine (page 20)

            a.         Deep breathing (to oxygenate the brain and muscle)

            b.         Elbow lifts (to work the arms and upper body

            c.         Neck turn (to work the upper spine)

            d.         Torso twist (for abdominal muscle, distribute your weight evenly over both feet)

            e.         Hip swing (to work the hips and sides)

            f.          Side bends (to work the upper body)

            g.         Squats (to work legs and lower body)

            h.         Warm-up March (to warm muscles and mobilize joints)

C.        Building Stamina (page 22)

“A study carried out at Harvard University demonstrated that individuals who expend 1500 calories a week through stamina-building activities, such as long distance walking, running or cycling live the longest.”

The book shows:

  • a table for recovery pulse rate
    • Heart training zone chart

D.        Stamina building exercises are as follows (page 26):

a.         Leg and arm curls

b.         Sways

c.         Half-stars and star jumps, including bouncing on a mini trampoline

d.         Step-Ups

e.         Springing

E.         Building Muscular Strength and Endurance (PAGE 28)

“You may need to alter your diet if you want to improve your muscular strength. This is because it is the carbohydrate in your diet, such as bread, pasta, rice, cereals and fruit and vegetables, that fuel muscle development. If you are eating a balanced diet, you don’t need extra protein, and you most certainly would not need extra fats or sugar in your diet”.

“Regular resistance exercises can reduce and even reverse the steady decline in strength with age, no matter how old or unfit you are when you start”

“Water offers considerable resistance and swimming is an ideal form of strength exercise – as well as improved stamina”

“You should vary the types of muscle exercise you do so that all the muscles of the body are improved – or conditioned – evenly without concentrating on any particular muscle group”

F.         Popular resistance aids include (page 30):

  • Dumbbells
  • Barbell
  • Elastic training band
  • Ankle and wrist weight
  • Gym machines. We have a Treadmill, Stationary Resistance Bike, Recumbent Bike, Vibrating Machine.

“Running Wild: By running just 8km (5 miles a week), you can reduce your risk of heart disease – North America’s number one killer – by 20 percent. Running can also help you lose weight, strengthen muscle and bones and slow the aging process, Even your skin and hair will benefit, and you will feel great too.”

“Try new activity, such as rollerblading or rock ’n’ roll dancing, to exercise more muscles. Every time you use a muscle in a different way, you help your whole body remain healthy and strong.”

“TAKE CARE: When doing resistance exercise, don’t hold your breath or keep still for more than a few seconds, as this raises your blood pressure. Steadily breathe out when exerting maximum effort and breathe in as you relax the effort. If you have high blood pressure, see a doctor before starting resistance exercises.”

G.        Muscle-Toning Exercise (page 32)

            a.         Wall push-up (to tone arms and upper body)

            b.         Box Push-up (to tone arms and upper body)

            c.         Heel raises (to tone calves)

            d.         Lower back raises (to tone lower back)

            e.         Leg toner (to tone inner ties)

            f)         Easy squats (to tone thighs and buttocks)

H.        Building Flexibility (page 34)

“Maintaining your flexibility means you can enjoy life to the fullest without worrying about muscle aches or injuries.”

“By doing simple stretching exercises during the day you can improve posture and joint mobility, reduce muscular tension and avoid muscle pain.”

I.          Stretching exercises (page 36)

            a.         Front of thighs (for the upper legs)

            b.         Back stretch (for the lower spine)

How much do we resemble Christ?

Read 2 Cor. 4:11, 16-18.

We resemble Christ in many ways:

a) We suffered persecution of mortal proportion, and we should be ready to do likewise for Him.

b) Since Christ triumphed over persecution, we too will be victorious and triumph in His name.

c) We do not lose heart no matter the persecution we face, we should ask for the grace of God and be ready to bear it.

d) Our outward man is decaying but our inward man is renewed day by day.

e) Our afflictions are light compared to what Christ suffered.

f) Our light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond comparison.

g) We should refocus our eyes and vision from the things which are seen to the things which are not seen, that is things of eternal value.

Heb. 11:25-27 (Moses) chose rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing Him who is unseen.

a) Moses chose to endue ill-treatment with God’s people rather than enjoy the pleasures of sin.

b) He considered the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt.

c) Moses looked forward to the reward for the reproaches he suffered for Christ.

d) By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king. He actually left so he could come back and fight another day (Exod. 2:10-15; the Bible calls it an act of faith). e) Moses endured, seeing Him who is unseen as permitting what was going on in His life.

PRAYER POINTS

WEEK 5  JAN 28 – FEB 03        Praise Worship         Text1 Kings 3:1-28; Luke 2:40-52; Phil. 4:1-23.

John 15:1-11, “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the words which I have spoken to you. Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself but must remain in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me. I am the vine, you are the branch; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. Just as the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you; remain in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”

STRONG CONNECTION TO THE VINE

  1. Oh Lord, I thank you for the shed blood of Jesus. Reveal yourself to me in Jesus’ name.
  2. Father, thank you for my salvation. Give me grace to witness and win souls for Christ.
  3. Oh Lord, fill my heart with wisdom. Wax and cement my spirit strong with your word.
  4. I reject every spirit of worldliness. I refuse to corrupt the wisdom of God in my heart.
  5. Oh Lord, grant me a heart to discern and keep away from evil in the name of Jesus.
  6. Oh Lord, give me a humble and teachable spirit. Engrave your words in my heart.
  7. Lord, as you appeared to Solomon in a dream, appear to me. Baptise me with your wisdom.
  8. Lord, help me to grow in wisdom and favour with God and people in greater measure.
  9. Let your wisdom show in me by the decisions I make that they are very thoughtful.
  10. Thank you, Lord for your favour and blessings. Distinguish me with your excellence.
  11. Oh Lord, show yourself mighty and strong in my life. Rejoicing shall abound in my life always.
  12. Satisfy my hunger and thirst for your righteousness. Help me to hate all besetting sins with perfect hatred. I shall not be foolish but wise. Let your light shine brightly through me.
  13. Lord Jesus, fill my heart with your peace, joy, and righteousness. Let your holiness fill all fibre of my being and emit from me convicting others (Rom. 14:17; John 14:27; 16:33).
  14. I cast all my worries on Christ. Lord, fill my spirit with godliness, contentment, faith, love, patience, meekness, power, and soundness of mind (1 Tim. 6:6-11; 2 Tim. 1:7; 1 Pet. 5:7).
  15. Every power of the enemy troubling my peace, you are wasting your time. I overcome you with the marks of Christ. I am not ashamed of His marks. I wear them proudly (Gal. 6:17).
  16. Lord, thank you for your strength. I receive grace to do all things well (Phil. 4:13).
  17. Lord, make me a strong branch connected to you and the Father. I am full of sap (Ps 104:16; Jn 15:1)
  18. Lord, you said if I abide in you and your word abides in me, I shall ask anything, it will be done unto me. I abide in you by grace. I shall not depart from you nor walk in ungodliness. Evil ways are anathema to my soul. I cleave to you and behold your glory always.
  19. Lord, prune me. Make my tree always healthy. Cause my life to bear much fruit abundantly to your glory. I love you, Lord. Let my discipleship of you become better, deeper, and deeper.
  20. Make me fruitful in all good works. Fortify me to be productive in all I do (1 Cor. 15:58).
  21. Worship God in the Spirit for fifteen to twenty minutes and journal what the Lord tells you!

WEEK 4  JAN 20 – JAN 27                  Praise Worship                 Text I Peter 5:1-14.

Matthew 16:13-20 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I the Son of man am?” And they said, some say you are John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, but who say ye that I am? Simon Peter answered and said, you are the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus said unto him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Then charged He His disciples that they should tell no man that He was Jesus the Christ.”

NATURE AND CHARACTER OF CHRIST

  1. Oh Lord, make me a worthy example of a believer. Strengthen my faith with your words.
  2. Oh Lord, fill my heart with humility. I focus keenly on the cross, not the world.
  3. Let your beauty be manifest in me. I cloth myself with the nature and character of Christ.
  4. Lord, I cast all my cares upon you. I bind every spirit of fear in the name of Jesus.
  5. Oh Lord, make my faith solid as I stand on the Rock of Ages in the mighty name of Jesus.
  6. Satan, I resist you. You have no place in my life and my home. My future is guaranteed.
  7. Oh Lord, reveal yourself to us. Open our eyes to behold the crown of glory you are preparing for us in heaven. Fill or hearts with your presence always (1 Perter 5:4).
  8. You said the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church. Strengthen us against satan!
  9. Father Lord, grant me great revelation of who you are and about Jesus Christ, your Son.
  10. Lord, you gave us the Keys of your Kingdom. We have authority to bind things on earth and they would be bound in heaven. We bind the spirit of fear, failure, frustration, underachievement, and hopelessness. We invade the gates of hell and prevail.
  11. Lord, we have your authority to release things on earth and they would be released in heaven. Fill us with more grace, and the nature of Christ so we live a more fulfilled life on earth.
  12. Lord, you are the embodiment of wisdom and grace. Fill us with these virtues.
  13. I emulate all the character of Christ (…… name them one by one). Bake them in me.
  14. Chose three of the character of Christ and prayer them over the next three months.
  15. Give glory to God and pray in the Spirit for fifteen to twenty minutes. Do your journaling!

WEEK THREE JANUARY 14 – JANUARY 20, 2024 Text Proverbs 3:1-35; Isaiah 53:1-12

HEALING AND DIVINE HEALTH

1 Peter 2:21-25 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth: Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again; when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself to Him that judgeth righteously: Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls!

  1. Read Isaiah 53 slowly. Thank Him for His finished work on the cross for you and your family. Thank Him for salvation, deliverance, healing, etc. (Isa 53:1-12).
  2. Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me. I bless your holy name. My soul, remember and never forget all of God’s benefit (Ps 68:19; 103:1-5).
  3. Every symptom of sickness in my body, I flush you out by the blood of Jesus. Be burnt to the root and to ashes by the Fire of the Holy Ghost.
  4. Touch me with your healing hands, Oh Lord. Great Physician diagnoses and heal me by your fire.
  5. Every strange voice speaking to my mind, be silenced and flee. Holy Spirit, possess my body, soul, and spirit. I tune my ear to hear the voice of God always, not the enemy’s voice.
  6. Lord, we stay in your presence. Let your glorious light shine on our paths and our ways.
  7. Lord, do your open-heart surgery in me and plant your wisdom and love in my heart.
  8. Prosper my soul. Grant me good health and true prosperity without sorrow (Prov. 10:22).
  9. Lord, we enjoy your divine health. Let your instantaneous and gradual healing be ours.
  10. Holy Spirit, you raised Lazarus from the dead. Fill me with new life, strength & power. Let your resurrection power cover me and burn the grave clothes that bound me. I am free, I am free! Praise God, I am alive (John 11:1-46; 1 Cor. 15:1-58)!!!
  11. My body, you are the temple of the living God. Sickness and disease, you have no permission to pollute my system. Every evil spirit peddling illness, evacuate now.
  12. Lord, I want to dwell in your holy hill continuously. I will not follow the ways of the wicked which leads to destruction and death (Prov. 3:27-30; Ps 15:1-5).
  13. Lord Jesus, it was impossible for sickness to be in you during your earthly ministry. Fill me body, soul, and spirit with your immunizing power.
  14. I receive divine protection. Satisfy me with good health and long life (2 Peter 2:24; Exod. 23:22-26; Deut. 7:15).
  15. Holy Spirit, bring understanding to my thought process. Plant your word in my heart and mind. Open my heart to receive your word with gladness (Acts 2:41-47; Prov. 3:1-10).
  16. Correct every area where I have been stubborn to your will. Guide me with your wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Make me creative in all my undertakings (Prov. 3:11-26).
  17. Lord, open my ears to hearken to your voice diligently. Open my eyes to see the natural therapies you have provided for my healing (Gen. 1:29; John 12:24; Exod. 15:22-27).
  18. Destroy every satanic attack against your health and wealth by the blood of Jesus. Reject every spirit of failure, poverty and loss. Take hold on the promises of God and arise from every spirit of death targeted against you. Ask for a full recovery of your situation (Job Chapters 1, 2, 41 and 42; Acts 27:21; 28:1-10).
  19. Thank God He cares for you as the Shepherd and Bishop of your soul (1 Peter 2:25).
  20. Worship God in the Spirit for fifteen to twenty minutes. Journal what He tells you!
