THEME:  2015 MY YEAR OF WALKING IN COMFORT & GREAT GRACE

Acts 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

Complete in Christ

Wednesday, November 5, 2014 by Joseph Agbi Leave a Comment

Complete in Christ

Bible Nugget 021114 [Gen. 1:26; Col. 2:9-10]

The above two verses are closely matched in regard to our salvation in Christ.

Genesis 1:26 says ” And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”.

Colossians 2:9-10  9For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. 10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

From the above verses, you see that there is a resemblance between God and man. That resemblance, not necessarily in facial appearance, was fully expressed in the man, Christ. The risen Christ has God’s full image, therefore has all the wisdom, power and all other attributes associated with the Godhead.

Notice that it was God who said He wanted to create man in his image and likeness. Man did not have a choice in his creation that he should be formed in God’s image just as a baby born of its parents has no choice in its birth.

However, Adam, the first man, sinned and fell short of God’s glory and image, through disobedience, enlisting all of mankind in the fall (Rom 3:23). God sent Jesus, His Son, who is part of the Godhead to restore the full image of God back in man (Rom 6:23).

How does the process of salvation work? By accepting Jesus into your heart you become an adopted son of God because He sees Christ in you. You become an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ (Rom 8:17). As you daily walk with Him, allowing His word to transform your heart, you nature becomes more and more like God’s. Your intimacy with Christ ultimately makes the difference on how closely that resemblance to the Godhead you will have(Gen. 1:26; Col. 2:9-10)

Prayer Points 021114

Pray this prayer of appreciation to God for creating you as a human being carrying a body, soul and spirit from the depth of your heart. Also thank him for sending Jesus into the world to die for your sins.

“Lord I bless your holy name. I worship you in the beauty of your holiness. I magnify you Father, Son and Holy Spirit for creating me in your image and likeness. Thank you for giving me the precious gift of your Holy Spirit. Thank you making me complete in Christ who is the fullness of the Godhead. You are my Father, I have the mind of Christ and you have given me the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. I will not allow sin to rob me of your glory in my life. I will attain unto the full measure of Christ in my life in Jesus name. I stand in you complete and reject every accusation of the enemy in Jesus name. I work out my salvation with godly fear in Jesus name. Amen.”

NET WORTH

Saturday, May 10, 2014 by Joseph Agbi Leave a Comment

NET WORTH
God is a wise investor. He created the heaven and the earth which demonstrates His awesome power and majesty. However, His greatest investment was man. He created man in His own image and likeness, breathed into Adam’s nostrils; hence every soul is priceless to Him [Genesis chapter 1].

The soul of man is priceless. However, after death every soul will be valued by God to determine if it was worth His investment. The good souls will be harvested into His kingdom while the rejects will have their portion in hell fire. It is that serious! We determine the fate of our souls here on earth.

Here on earth, the forces of darkness seek to destroy people’s lives as their ultimate goal is to populate hell, but God provided for our redemption through the death and resurrection of his Son, Jesus Christ [John 3:16].

The sum total of the worth of someone to God at death is the fear of God that was in the person’s heart, how wise the person was, the love shown to others and how the person’s life fostered the cause of God’s kingdom.

Paraphrased Jesus said, “Someone’s life or net worth does not consist in the abundance of things the person has” (Luke 12:15].

All souls are valuable to God while alive but at death God weighs or judges the soul. Death is the final curtain in the stage of life which covers one scene and opens another. How prepared are you to face your maker!

Call upon Him today and ask for forgiveness through the blood of Jesus, which provides assurance for your salvation. Only then will you be a useful vessel as you live your life daily to please Him and do the work of His kingdom.

Prayer Point
Oh Lord, open my spiritual eyes and quicken my understanding in Jesus name.

LOVE GIFT

Friday, December 20, 2013 by Esther Agbi Leave a Comment

LOVE GIFT

Author: Esther Agbi

In the month of December, diverse things come into the minds of people.

The diversity depends on so many factors like age, gender, religious beliefs, social status, educational status and so on. In all of these, there is still a common link which is Christmas. There is an on-ending debate going on right now as to how the greetings would go. Is it Merry Christmas? Some people say they are Jews, so it’s happy Hanukah! Others are Atheists and they say, let’s just call it Holidays.

As people say, which I also agree with, Jesus is the reason for the season! Everything should revolve around Christ, but these days, we find out that Christ has been taken out of Christmas. How sad this sounds.

Many people are thinking of Christmas lights, end of year fireworks, wrapping sheets, chocolates, buying and selling, rounding up of business accounts, Medical field-stressors, Boxing Day discounts, deadline of purchases and even “end of the world” just to mention a few. Yours truly is included in some of these thoughts.

As there are diversities of thoughts at this time of the year, so there are diversities of gifts. The gifts differ depending on the giver and the receiver. I heard recently from a radio station that a teenager donated an organ. I believe he/she should be one of the youngest living donors. What a great sacrifice!

Gifts vary from computers, cars, education fees, remodeling of homes to inheritances. (Prov. 13:22a, a good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children.)

Gifts do not have to be so expensive or so cheap! It is not the amount but the thought that went into such giving. The everyday Joe could give a cup of coffee, gift certificates for groceries, baseball or plane tickets. The list goes on and on.

Some gifts like chocolates are temporary while others like inheritance are long lasting. What gift do you expect from a toddler who is 2 years old? He may give you a smile, or ‘high five’ or his cookies, which he may take back from you after about 30 seconds. Toddlers are so sweet.

This brings us to longer lasting gifts. The gift of life and the power to get wealth. (Deut 8:18).

There could be giving without love (1corinthians 13:3) but there is no love without giving.

God loved the world and gave the greatest gift of all- His son, whom we are celebrating his birth at Christmas (Jn 3:16. For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life)

God has a gift for you and for me. The gift of salvation and the gift of life.

Jesus says (Jn 14:6, I am the way and the truth and the LIFE…)

Deut. 30:19b, God admonishes us to choose life.

Are you willing to accept this precious gift?

God bless you as you celebrate with others this Christmas period.

Have Christ in your Christmas!
