Health Article – 5: Superiority of the Genesis Diet

Monday, September 11, 2023 by Joseph Agbi Leave a Comment

Gen. 1:29 reads, 29 Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you.

God spoke it a as part of the blessing of dominion, procreation, regeneration and renewal of our beings and the earth’s resources.

The key categories in the Genesis diet are:

  1. Vegetables
  2. Legumes
  3. Whole Grain
  4. Fruits
  5. Raw Seeds and Raw nuts

Eaten in right proportions they make our bodies function best.

Setting your Calorie Need

Most Food Guides leaves you to work out your daily calorific intake based on how you expend energy.

In the American Food Guide, the three calorie categories for Adults and teens are 1600 calories, 2200 calories and 2800 calories.

From the pyramid guide we learn further that 1,600 calories is about right for many sedentary women and some older adults.  2,200 calories is about right for most children, teenage girls, active women and many sedentary men. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding may need more, the food guide says. 2,800 calories is said to be about right for many teenage boys, many active men, and some active women.

Sometime ago when I asked my doctor how many calories I need a day, he advised that 1,600 calories is what the Medical Community now takes as a good number to meet my physiological daily need as well as be on a downward trend in weight loss. Of course, he did not exclude meat but advised it be taken in small size with little or no fat in my meals. I followed his advice.

Other Western Food Guides, Canadian and British, compared to the Genesis Diet

  • The Canadian diet, on the Government of Canada website, like the American falls short of the Genesis diet.  It includes milk and meats in its recommended servings.
  • Whereas the American and Canadian diets promote the inclusion of meat, fat and oil in our servings the Genesis diet has no meat, nor explicit oil or fat. The oil and fat within the Genesis diet comes from within the nuts, plant and their seeds in the natural form, not processed form.
  • The British healthy food plate published by Public Health England recommends 8 tips for eating well, cutting down on saturated fats. They may be better tolerated for the some people than the usual high-calorie fattening American diet.

1. Base your meals on starchy foods

2. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables

3. Eat more fish – including a portion of oily fish each week

4. Cut down on saturated fat and sugar

5. Eat less salt, no more than 6g a day for adults

6. Get active and be a healthy weight

7. Don’t get thirsty

8. Don’t skip breakfast

Nonetheless, the British food plate promote foods high in fat/or sugar which suggests the source is from processed foods, again falling short of the Genesis diet.

Asian and African Diets

The typical Asian diet appears healthier than the American and European diets as the food plates and calories serving shows. The people appear generally more diminutive but their diet appears more plant based and closer to the Genesis diet which may promote more healthiness and longevity.

The proportion of servings in the African Diet is highly different depending on the region and country of Africa; whether it is rural or urban and whether there is good harvest or seasons of famine. Fruits and vegetables are generally abundant in wet regions, but food storage is poor.

  1. Tomatoes
  2. Blueberries
  3. Kale
  4. Black Beans
  5. Brocolli
  6. Salmon
  7. Oats

Note: This list is not exhaustive.

The Genesis Diet

” 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; 30 and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to everything that]moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so (Gen 1:27-30, NASB).

  1. God gave the diet because it was the best fuel suitable for the body to run on.
  2. Even after the fall, our earliest ancestors lived over nine hundred years on the Genesis diet.

The Meat Diet

Read the following Bible passages and get insight how and why God allowed the meat diet.

Numbers 11:31-34

Psalm 106:15

Rom. 12:1-2

1 Tim. 4:1-5

Health Article-1: Go Natural

Sunday, August 27, 2023 by Joseph Agbi Leave a Comment

This section is devoted to health issues to enable everyone live a productive healthy life. From time to time, we will refer to the various good selected Textbooks in our collection such as Eden’s Health Plan: GO NATURAL! By Dr Mark Virkler and others.

Health through Prevention

  1. We should take care of ourselves and others under our care with a new set of principles which are simple, cost-effective, medically-proven and sensible.
  2. The following combinations are often suggested by Experts and Therapists: the Genesis diet, exercise, nutritional and herbal supplements as necessary; clean air; pure water; adequate sunshine; attitude of faith, hope and love, occasional fasting, and prayer for healing when necessary.
  3. By practicing these we can probably live to 100 years old in excellent health and great spirits.
  4. The lifespan of being centurions would perhaps give us enough years to develop the talents and anointing necessary to become mighty world changers for Christ.

So, the idea is, everyone is responsible for his or her own health. By Going Natural, these 3 things will generally bring healing to your body.

1)   Detoxify your body

2)   Strengthen your immune system

3)   Nourish your body cells

The bottom line is that degenerative diseases (and the ageing process itself) can be slowed, halted and even reversed. By doing the 3 things above we promote our overall health, our bodies resist sicknesses and we honour our bodies and honour God and His word.

Is Milk a Necessity for Children?

Wednesday, March 20, 2019 by Joseph Agbi Leave a Comment

1 Peter 2:1-3 (AKJV)

1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speaking’s, 2 as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

I would say everyone living today was once a child. No one was born an adult. Well, Adam and his wife Eve, from bible records were made as full-grown man and woman.

Since we were all children at one time or the other, there was need for us to drink milk.

I have never heard of anyone who said that he is a father to God, or brother or sister to God, or even god-father to God. Everyone who is a Christian is only a child of God irrespective of age, race or gender.

 What is milk to children?

Milk is sustenance to children. Milk is their food and it keeps them alive and growing. Children have this natural desire and instinct to drink milk. They cry for it and the parent recognizes the fact that they are hungry and takes care of that need. I also know that children cry for different needs, but the most important of all is for food, and thereby sustenance.

Our milk as children of God is the word of God. Do I have that desire for God’s word? Do you have that desire for God’s word? Do you see God’s words as sustenance for your life?

Milk is like the manna God gave to the children of Israel as they journeyed through the wilderness to the Promised Land. They were sustained by God.

As we eat physical food to sustain our physical bodies, we also need spiritual food for our spiritual growth and sustenance.

When we starve our spiritual being, we are going to suffer from spiritual kwashiorkor. We would know very little about our father God and have less of His virtues.

How do we drink the milk of His word?

Jesus said’ man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from his mouth’.

We obtain the milk of God’s word by going to our Father. Open his word he has given to us, the bible and allow the Spirit of God to direct you and illuminate scriptures to you as you study.

 Excuses

Do we have excuses of no time or we are too busy with other affairs of life? Let us not be like the rich fool in the bible who said he wanted to break down barns and build bigger barns, and yet not rich towards God. We should realize that all we have and all we are belongs to him. So my friend, take time out of your busy schedule and have an alone time with your father, God, who is the creator of the heavens and the earth.

God bless you.
